About This Role

BenchMark Physical Therapy, a clinic brand within the Upstream Rehabilitation network, is hiring a full-time Patient Care Coordinator (PCC-I) at its Gresham, Oregon location. This entry-level administrative position sits at the intersection of patient experience and clinic operations: you're the person who turns incoming referrals into confirmed appointments, greets patients when they arrive, handles co-pay collection, and keeps the paperwork flowing so therapists can stay focused on clinical care. It's a role that demands genuine warmth and sharp organizational instincts in equal measure.

About BenchMark Physical Therapy & Upstream Rehabilitation

BenchMark Physical Therapy is one of several clinic brands operating under the Upstream Rehabilitation umbrella — a growing national network of outpatient physical therapy practices. The network emphasizes a collaborative team culture and continuous professional development through structured training programs, with genuine community investment built into the employment package (the annual paid Charity Day is a concrete example, not just a recruiting talking point). Front-office staff benefit from standardized onboarding, shared systems like Raintree, and the career mobility that comes with working inside a larger multi-brand organization.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Collect patient co-pays and outstanding balances at the point of service
  • Convert incoming referrals — received by phone or fax — into scheduled evaluation appointments
  • Build and maintain the clinic's daily patient schedule, minimizing gaps and no-show impact
  • Welcome every patient and walk-in warmly, establishing the tone for their clinic experience
  • Place outbound welcome calls to new patients before their first visit
  • Monitor patient arrival rates and take proactive steps to improve retention through follow-up and exceptional service
  • Route clinical and administrative documents accurately through established workflows
  • Process daily cash deposits and reconcile collected payments
  • Support insurance verification and active caseload reporting, including progress notes and discharge candidate tracking
  • Monitor front-office supply inventory and flag restocking needs
  • Attend onboarding and update sessions on the Raintree practice management system with Territory Field Trainers
  • Complete required quarterly compliance training

Must-Have Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills — comfortable working with clinic staff and administrative or field leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask across systems and priorities without losing accuracy
  • Self-directed work style; capable of staying on track with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Strong time management and the ability to meet recurring administrative deadlines
  • Availability for a full-time Monday–Friday schedule (minimum 40 hours per week); occasional evening or weekend event attendance may be required
  • Comfortable with extended periods of sitting, typing, and computer-based work
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 20 lbs

Skills Snapshot: What Matters Most

The non-negotiable core is front-desk composure: staying organized and patient-facing when the schedule gets tight. Multitasking across multiple systems simultaneously is a daily reality — the clinic uses Raintree, with training provided, so prior experience with it isn't required but general computer fluency is. Communication runs through every layer: with patients, referring physician offices, and clinic and regional leadership. The PCC-I designation marks this as a deliberate entry point with structured onboarding built in — prior medical front office experience would be an advantage but is not listed as a requirement.
