Role at a Glance
BJAK is hiring a fully remote Product Designer based in the Philippines to work across its expanding fintech suite — insurance, payments, investments, and more. You'll own the full design cycle from initial wireframe to production delivery. Hard requirements: 3+ years of product design experience, advanced Figma proficiency, and a portfolio (mandatory). Salary is not publicly disclosed. For strong candidates, BJAK targets an interview-to-offer timeline of one week.
What This Role Is About
This position sits at the intersection of product thinking and interface craft. You'll work alongside product managers and engineers to untangle the complexity built into financial workflows — policy purchases, payment steps, investment dashboards, claims flows — and convert that complexity into experiences that feel obvious and fast to the end user. The scope is genuinely full-cycle: mapping user flows, producing wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, shipping production-ready components, and iterating against real usage data. It suits designers who think in systems, take ownership of outcomes, and care as much about how a product works as how it looks.
About BJAK
Founded in 2019, BJAK was built around the conviction that financial planning and money management should be accessible to ordinary people — not just the privileged few, and that premise is baked into the company's name. The team launched Southeast Asia's first mobile-native insurance marketplace, which grew into the region's dominant insurance platform by moving the entire purchase journey online. BJAK has since broadened its footprint into spending, saving, investing, foreign exchange, and travel products. It operates as a globally distributed team representing more than 20 nationalities, across offices and remote setups. The company describes itself explicitly as a builder-first environment that values craft and mission over seniority or convention.
What You'll Own
- Lead the full design arc from early concept through production delivery, covering the entire product lifecycle
- Translate product requirements into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and production-ready interfaces
- Design across BJAK's financial product surfaces — insurance, payments, claims processing, and investment tools
- Build and evolve a scalable design system and shared component library for use across product teams
- Partner closely with engineers to ensure implementation matches design intent and quality at handoff
- Drive rapid iteration by using product analytics and direct user feedback to improve usability
- Keep visual and interaction patterns coherent and consistent across both mobile and web surfaces
- Continuously raise the bar on micro-interactions, accessibility standards, and overall product quality
Must-Have Requirements
- 3 or more years of professional digital product design experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates both product thinking and strong visual execution — submission is mandatory to apply
- Advanced Figma proficiency, including interactive prototyping (not baseline familiarity)
- Deep command of design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles
- Solid grounding in information architecture and user flow construction
- Strong visual design fundamentals across typography, spacing, layout, and interaction design
- Demonstrated ability to translate complicated workflows into clear and accessible user experiences
- Strong English communication skills — the primary working language across all global teams
Skills Breakdown: Must-Have vs. Supporting Tools
Figma is the non-negotiable core — advanced proficiency is the stated bar, not baseline familiarity, and that includes interactive prototyping. Design systems thinking is equally hard-required: you're expected to build and maintain scalable component libraries, not simply consume them. Information architecture and user flow mapping round out the critical skill set. Supporting tools listed in the design stack — FigJam for collaborative whiteboarding and Auto Layout — are part of the working environment but are not explicitly cited as requirements. The overall scope of ownership places this role at mid-to-senior level; candidates with four-plus years of product design experience, particularly in complex-flow or fintech contexts, are likely the strongest fit.
Salary and Compensation
BJAK has not disclosed a salary range for this position. No compensation data was included in the job posting, so JobForMe is unable to surface a figure. Candidates should raise compensation expectations directly with the hiring team — the role-specific interview stage is the natural opportunity to do so. The position is fully remote and scoped to Philippines-based candidates; any offer will reflect that geography. No benefits information was provided in the posting.
Location and Work Model
This is a fully remote position. However, applicants must already be based in the Philippines — BJAK is hiring specifically for this market and is not considering candidates located elsewhere, regardless of remote arrangement. No visa sponsorship information was provided in the posting, and relocation support is not mentioned. Day-to-day collaboration runs in English across BJAK's globally distributed teams, so strong English communication is a firm requirement.
