Role at a Glance

Awin is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to anchor a newly formed Finance Data squad. You'll build automated data pipelines, reconciliations, and operational reports that accounting teams depend on for month-end close, credit control, and working capital. Fully remote, 3+ years of finance or analytics experience required, strong SQL essential. Salary not disclosed.

What This Role Is About

This position sits at the intersection of finance and data engineering within Awin's growing Finance Operations function. Rather than analysing numbers, your work centres on building the infrastructure those numbers flow through — automated reconciliation processes, ERP-connected data pipelines, and reporting that removes manual effort from accounting teams. It's a newly created role on a newly created team, meaning you'll have real influence over how financial operations data is structured and delivered for years ahead.

About Awin

Founded in 2000, Awin operates one of the world's largest open affiliate partner ecosystems, connecting advertisers and publishers across multiple markets. The company is part of Axel Springer, the European digital media and technology group. Awin takes an explicitly international approach to both its partnerships and its workforce — reflected in the multi-country hiring for this very role. The company emphasises diversity and inclusion as core values and maintains a virtual social culture through its internal Life @ Awin community hub.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Extract and pre-transform accounting data from source systems, ERP platforms, and finance tooling to support bookings and close processes
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that feed accounting and financial reporting workflows
  • Guarantee accuracy, traceability, and auditability across all financial data inputs you own
  • Design and implement automated reconciliation processes between source systems, ERP, and downstream reporting — cutting manual work for accounting teams
  • Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and escalate systemic or recurring issues as appropriate
  • Build automation that eliminates manual data handling from accountants' daily routines
  • Keep month-end close data flows and reconciliations running reliably
  • Identify and flag recurring data quality issues upstream, working with Data Engineering on fixes
  • Develop operational finance reports covering credit control, working capital, revenue reconciliation, and transaction-level controls
  • Apply consistent data definitions across your builds and maintain alignment between source systems and ERP structures

Must-Have Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics
  • Solid grasp of accounting processes including close cycle, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and working capital
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into precise data specifications
  • Strong SQL skills including window functions, CTEs, and working with large transactional datasets
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial data structures
  • Hands-on experience with at least one BI tool such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of data pipeline and data modelling concepts
  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across both finance and data teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail suited to reconciliation and financial control work
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or a closely related field
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to Have

  • AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification — in progress or completed
  • Python experience
  • Familiarity with Finance Data Warehouse concepts
  • Proficiency in an additional European language

Skills That Matter Most

At senior level, SQL is the critical hard skill — window functions, CTEs, and large dataset work are listed as strong requirements, not optional extras. ERP familiarity and BI tool experience (Tableau, Power BI) are required; Python and Finance Data Warehouse knowledge would set you apart. On the finance side, you need genuine accounting process fluency — close cycles, revenue recognition, working capital — not just data familiarity. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, AAT) are advantageous but explicitly not required.

If salary transparency matters to your decision, it is worth raising this directly when you receive a first-round invitation.
