Role at a Glance
Senior executive role at Monks leading its North American integrated media group — roughly 200 people across three practices: platform resale and activation, enterprise transformation consulting, and CRM/lifecycle marketing. You carry full P&L accountability and own go-to-market strategy across all three units. Salary: $220,000–$260,000 USD. Hybrid schedule, New York-based. Minimum 14 years of media or agency leadership required.
What This Role Is About
Monks is looking for a senior executive to own the commercial and strategic direction of its North American integrated media business. A technically strong first-line leadership team is already in place — your mandate is to unify them under a single go-to-market narrative, hold financial accountability for each practice, and personally step into high-value client conversations to cross-sell the full portfolio. This is a genuine operator role: you set the direction, own the numbers, and serve as the external face of a 200-person organization to enterprise clients and the broader market.
About Monks
Monks is the global digital marketing and technology brand sitting under S4 Capital plc. It combines media, creative, data, and technology capabilities and ties them together through Monks.Flow, its AI-driven marketing orchestration platform. The company works with large enterprise brands on programmatic buying, digital transformation, content production, and lifecycle marketing at scale. Recognition includes top-ten creative company status at Cannes Lions every year from 2022 to 2025, Adweek's inaugural AI Agency of the Year title in 2023, and an unbroken appearance on AdExchanger's Programmatic Power Players list every year since 2020.
What You'll Own
- Define and execute a unified go-to-market strategy that spans all three North American integrated media practice areas
- Carry full financial accountability across each practice unit — including P&L ownership, revenue forecasting, and operational performance
- Grow the Resale & Activation practice by expanding relationships with major ad platforms, increasing seat ownership, and standardizing media buying execution across managed and self-serve models
- Direct the Transformation advisory team, helping enterprise clients navigate media maturity assessments, process redesign, and pilots of embedded in-housing operating models
- Oversee the CRM practice's end-to-end delivery of lifecycle marketing programs and strategic platform implementations
- Step directly into senior client conversations to identify, pitch, and close cross-sell opportunities spanning the full Monks portfolio
- Develop and present high-stakes business strategies and financial narratives to C-suite executives and senior partner audiences
- Drive organizational consolidation — merging siloed operations into centralized centers of excellence
- Coach and elevate the first-line leadership team, moving practice leads from reactive resource planning toward rigorous, proactive financial forecasting
Must-Have Experience
- 14+ years of leadership in media, platform operations, or digital transformation — agency, performance marketing, or growth marketing contexts preferred
- 5+ years of direct multi-unit P&L ownership with hands-on financial forecasting and operational accountability
- Verifiable track record managing large multidisciplinary teams of 100+ people across media buying, client services, and strategic consulting
- Deep working knowledge of platform resale models — GMP, Amazon, Walmart — and proven experience structuring and executing Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with major platform partners
- Demonstrated success integrating paid media strategy with owned channels including CRM, analytics, data engineering, and content ecosystems
- History as a primary commercial driver — direct involvement in senior client sales cycles, pitch development, and high-value cross-sell execution
- Experience presenting complex financial and strategic narratives to C-suite executives and senior partners
- Proven track record leading organizational transformation and consolidating siloed teams into centralized operations
Valuable But Not Mandatory
- Hands-on familiarity with enterprise lifecycle marketing platform implementation — Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, or Bloomreach
- Experience designing and piloting embedded in-housing operating models for enterprise brand clients
- Background coaching senior leaders on transitioning from basic resource estimation to proactive, rigorous financial forecasting practices
Skills Breakdown: What Matters Most
The non-negotiables at this level are multi-unit P&L management and deep fluency with platform resale mechanics — GMP, Amazon, and Walmart. Cross-channel integration (connecting paid media to CRM, analytics, and data engineering) is equally central to the brief. A verifiable track record in senior client sales and cross-sell is table stakes for a role that requires representing 200 people externally. Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, or Bloomreach is beneficial but secondary to commercial scale, financial rigor, and the executive presence needed to unify a complex multi-discipline business under one narrative.
