Role at a Glance
VIP Business Developer at Vestiaire Collective's London office on a hybrid schedule. Core focus: managing a portfolio of high-spending luxury sellers — conducting in-home wardrobe reviews, curating items for consignment, and driving repeat business. Salary not published; free equity participation included. Best suited to a commercially driven professional with genuine fluency in designer fashion and an existing or actively buildable network in high-value circles.
About This Role
This position sits within Vestiaire Collective's VIP Consignment division, which delivers a premium, white-glove selling service to clients parting with high-value fashion pieces. You will be the primary relationship owner for this client segment — growing the seller base through targeted outreach and personal referrals while maintaining the quality experience that keeps existing clients returning. The role blends field-based client visits, active inventory oversight, and strategic pipeline management, making it well-suited to someone equally at home conducting a client wardrobe review and contributing to a commercial planning meeting.
About Vestiaire Collective
Vestiaire Collective operates the world's leading marketplace for authenticated, pre-owned designer and luxury fashion. Launched in Paris in 2009, the company has grown into a genuinely global operation with offices across Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific, supported by fulfilment infrastructure on multiple continents. The team of approximately 600 spans more than 50 nationalities. The company's guiding principles centre on sustainability advocacy, transparency, dedication, and collective ownership — rooted in a belief that extending the life of desirable fashion pieces is both a sound commercial model and a meaningful contribution to reducing the environmental cost of the clothing industry.
What You'll Do
- Build and deepen long-term relationships with a portfolio of high-value consignment clients, with a clear focus on retention, repeat deposit volume, and overall sales performance
- Identify and acquire new VIP sellers by leveraging personal connections, attending relevant events, and executing structured business development outreach
- Travel to clients' homes to run wardrobe edit sessions — identifying items suited for consignment and offering hands-on guidance on pricing strategy and how to maximise listing performance
- Oversee each client's active inventory, proactively adjusting listings to improve sell-through rate and total financial returns
- Represent Vestiaire Collective at industry and community events, cultivating partnerships that expand the VIP consignment pipeline
Must-Have Qualifications
- Commercially motivated self-starter, capable of working independently against ambitious performance targets without close supervision
- Demonstrable ability to build and leverage a personal network to generate new high-value clients — an existing contact book is a strong advantage
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging affluent, discerning clientele and senior internal stakeholders alike
- Deep knowledge of the luxury fashion market: key brands, current resale pricing trends, and the motivations of high-net-worth sellers
- Strong organisational discipline — able to manage multiple concurrent client accounts, diary commitments, and inventory tasks simultaneously
- Comfortable operating across both in-office and client-facing environments, including regular field appointments at clients' residences
Beneficial but Not Required
- An established, active contact book of high-net-worth fashion sellers in London or comparable luxury markets
- Prior experience in luxury consignment, pre-owned fashion resale, or a premium personal-shopping or client-services environment
- Experience representing a brand at luxury lifestyle or industry events
Skills Breakdown: Must-Have vs. Nice-to-Have
The essential skill set combines relationship sales with deep luxury expertise. Non-negotiable capabilities include client lifecycle management, consultative selling, and genuine fluency in designer fashion — you need to advise on pricing with authority, not approximation. Strong self-organisation is equally critical in a role with heavy field time and no micromanagement safety net. Nice-to-haves include an existing high-net-worth contact network and prior exposure to luxury consignment or resale, both of which shorten the runway to target performance. No technical or digital skills are specified in this posting.

Location & Working Arrangement
The role is based in London on a hybrid arrangement — expect a regular split between office days and in-person client visits across the city, including wardrobe appointments at clients' homes. No relocation support, visa sponsorship, or fully remote option is mentioned in the posting. Candidates should be locally based or able to commute to London independently.
